Lowongan Kerja Landscape Hydrologist

ICRAF is implementing a project on "Trees in multi-Use Landscapes in Southeast Asia (TUL-SEA): A negotiation support toolbox for Integrated Natural Resource Management" that aims to sharpen the tools for problem appraisal to be used in mainstream devel­op­­ment processes, identify targets for academic follow-up research, involve NARS and contribute direct­ly to negotiated solutions for important tradeoffs. It involves partners across SE Asia, with training courses and support of local application of a series of appraisal tools ICRAF developed including the Rapid Hydrological Appraisal method.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks:

• Implement Rapid Hydrological Appraisals based on local, public and modelers knowledge.
• Develop and maintain a watershed model that allows analysis of consequences of land use change
• Develop interfaces linking existing model with spatial data.
• Contribute to capacity building for national partners in land use and watershed management

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Familiarity through university study and work experience with Integrated Natural Resource Management approaches including hydrology, agro-meteorology 3-4 years work experience
• Experience with process-based models of the rainfall-soil-plant-atmosphere continuum
• Experience in GIS and or Spatial Analysis
• Good English communication skills: correspondence with project partners, newsletter contributions
• Experience with and affinity for international and inter-cultural cooperation
• Excellent capability to work under limited supervision
• Computer and internet literate

Terms of offer:

• This is a Nationally Professional Fixed Term position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
• The contract is for a period of two years, with possibility of renewal subject to assessment of performance, and availability of resources.
